One of the great opportunities for collaboration was when I was designing web sites, teaching a graduate course on human factors, and working with a nonprofit and government agency on creating a user-friendly website. I was able to take our professional process, guide students through that process, and then offer the analysis and recommendations to a volunteer organization. I had the opportunity of mentoring and coaching. The students had exposure to professional processes and to community outreach. The organizational had access to professional services and a LOT of research! It was an all around win!
